Atole
INGREDIENTS
- 2 cups milk
- 2 cups water
- 1/2 cup chopped Mexican raw sugar (piloncillo) or brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon, preferably Mexican canela
- 1/2 cup Masa Harina
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS
In a large (4-quart) saucepan, combine the milk, water, piloncillo and canela. Whisk and bring to a simmer. Sprinkle in the masa harina and whisk until the mixture returns to a boil, then stir in the vanilla extract. Remove from heat and serve immediately.
